How can I tell my child has a fever?
Answered on 11th January 2016
The best way to spot if your little one has a fever is to see if their skin is hot to the touch. Feel their forehead, or if they’re younger than three months, their chest or back. You may also notice that your baby’s cheeks are flushed, or they feel clammy or sweaty.
To be sure, you can use a digital thermometer under their armpit. Generally a temperature higher than 37.5°C (99.5°F) is considered a fever. However what’s a normal temperature can be different for your baby, using a digital thermometer to measure this will allow you to know what is normal for your child.
