What treatments are available for cradle cap?
Cradle cap does not usually require treatment. It is not considered a serious illness and it rarely causes discomfort, so it is often left to clear up eventually by itself.
Whilst they will not affect the amount of time your baby has cradle cap for, there are several measures that parents can do that may help soften and loosen skin flakes and prevent a build-up. These include gently washing the hair and scalp with a baby shampoo, and washing hair more frequently than usual (up to once a day).
